Cafatine (not available in Canada) is used to prevent and to treat vascular headaches such as migraine and migraine-like headaches.

Do not use Cafatine (not available in Canada) if you are allergic to this or similar medicines or to any ingredient present in Cafatine (not available in Canada).

Before using Cafatine (not available in Canada), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking any herbal products, if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment, heart ot lung problem, if you have peripheral vascular disease or poor circulation, arteriosclerosis or "hardening of the arteries", high blood pressure or a serious infection

Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while taking Cafatine (not available in Canada).

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Cafatine (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Cafatine (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Cafatine (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. It is important to tell your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible if you get any of the following side effects: cold, numb, or painful hands or feet; leg cramps when walking; any type of pain around your chest; swelling; itching. These tablets decrease the circulation of blood to your skin, fingers, and toes. You may get more sensitive to the cold. Elderly patients are more likely to feel this effect. Dress warmly and avoid long exposure to the cold. Because Cafatine (not available in Canada) contains caffeine, you may wish to limit your intake of caffeinated beverages on the days that you use Cafatine (not available in Canada). Alcohol can make headaches worse or bring on a new headache. Therefore, you should avoid alcoholic drinks. Because smoking can increase side effects of Cafatine (not available in Canada) you should avoid smoking.

Store Cafatine (not available in Canada) in a dry place at room temperature between 59° - 86°F. Keep out of reach of children and pets
