Calcort (not available in Canada) is used for the treatment of cancer of bone marrow like leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma. Calcort (not available in Canada) is also used to treat inflammatory disorders e.g. asthma, arthritis, severe allergic reactions, Crohn's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus and suppression of immune system following organ transplantation.

Do not take Calcort (not available in Canada) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Calcort (not available in Canada) or to similar medications.

Before using Calcort (not available in Canada), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Do not stop taking Calcort (not available in Canada) suddenly especially if you have been taking it since more than 3 weeks. Calcort (not available in Canada) should be taken by mouth should be taken in the morning to mimic the natural production of corticosteroids by the body. They should be taken after food.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Calcort (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Calcort (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Calcort (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.Do not take indigestion remedies at the same time of day as Calcort (not available in Canada). Calcort (not available in Canada) may increase your susceptibility to infections and also mask the symptoms of these infections. Consult your doctor if you get an infection during treatment. Live vaccines should not be administered to people taking Calcort (not available in Canada), as their normal immune response is reduced and giving a live vaccine may therefore result in infection rather than the production of antibodies.

Store Calcort (not available in Canada) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
