Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) is used to treat vaginal candidasis (vaginal yeast infection) in women.

Do not use Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole)

Before using Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have any other medical condition

Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) is not for ophthalmic or oral use. Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) may cause skin sensitization.

How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Use Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) exactly as directed by your health care professional. Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Cleanse skin with soap and water. Dry completely. Apply a thin layer over the affected area morning and evening or as directed by your doctor. For athlete's foot, pay special attention to spaces between the toes. Wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes and change shoes and socks at least once daily. Do not use in children under 2 years of age without consulting a physician. If irritation occurs or if symptoms do not improve within the recommended number of days, discontinue use and consult your doctor or pharmacist. Continue use until a full course of therapy has been taken. Failure to take all of Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) may prevent complete elimination of the bacteria, allowing the infection to return. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole). Do not stop using Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) without checking with your doctor. Do not use more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have used too much of Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Canesten Vaginal (clotrimazole) between 36 and 86 degrees F.
