Before using Compound W (salicylic acid), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Compound W (salicylic acid)?

Compound W (salicylic acid) is for external use only. Do not use Compound W (salicylic acid) if you are diabetic or if you have poor blood circulation. Do not use on irritated skin, any area that is infected or reddened. Do not use on genital warts, facial warts or warts with hair growing from them. Do not use on warts on mucous membranes, such as inside mouth, nose, anus, genitals or lips. Stop using this product if discomfort persists. |

How should I take Compound W (salicylic acid)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your agem and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Compound W (salicylic acid) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Compound W (salicylic acid) is for external use only. If medicine gets into eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes. Do not inhale vapors from Compound W (salicylic acid). Soak wart in warm water for 5 minutes. Dry the area thoroughly. Apply 1 drop at a time to completely cover each wart. Let dry. Repeat once or twice daily (as needed) for up to 12 weeks. Do not use Compound W (salicylic acid) on irritated, infected, or reddened skin. Do not use Compound W (salicylic acid) on moles, birthmarks, warts with hair growing from them, membranes, genital warts, or warts on the face or mucous membranes. If discomfort persists, contact your health care provider. Do not take over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. Do not use more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Compound W (salicylic acid). If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.

How should Compound W (salicylic acid) be stored?

Store Compound W (salicylic acid) at controlled room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F) away from heat. Keep away from fire or flame. Keep tightly closed. |
