Before using Fishermans Friend (menthol), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have impaired kidney or liver function, if you have heart or lung problem |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Fishermans Friend (menthol)?

Do no exceed the recommended dosage of Fishermans Friend (menthol). A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache, consult a health care provider. Do not take Fishermans Friend (menthol) for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, or emphysema, or if cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus) unless directed by a health care provider. If sore throat is severe, persists for more than 2 days, is accompanied or followed by fever, headache, rash, swelling, nausea, or vomiting, consult a health care provider promptly. Keep this and all medicines out of the reach of children. |

How should I take Fishermans Friend (menthol)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Fishermans Friend (menthol) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Fishermans Friend (menthol) can be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking Fishermans Friend (menthol) or change the dose without checking with your health care provider. This could have serious adverse effects. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination or physical dexterity. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that may cause drowsiness (such as benzodiazepines, baclofen) while you are taking Fishermans Friend (menthol). Inform your health care provider if you are taking an oral contraceptive. Your health care provider may have to adjust the dose of Fishermans Friend (menthol). Lab tests or exams may be required to monitor treatment. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Fishermans Friend (menthol). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
