Do not take Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) or to similar medications.

Before using Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Always have an extra supply of insulin and needles available in case something happens to your current supply. It is very important that you use Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The timing of insulin with respect to your meals is crucial to keeping blood sugar under control and preventing unwanted side effects.

Other: Depression of skin at place of injection, swelling of face, fingers, feet, or ankles, thickening of the skin at the place of injection

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Mix your insulin by slowly rolling the bottle or pen between your hands. Do not use the insulin unless it is clear and colourless. Do not use it if it contains crystals or if the bottle or vial looks frosted. Inject your dose of insulin under the skin exactly as instructed by your doctor or diabetes educator. Keep unopened bottles of insulin in the refrigerator until needed; they may be used until the expiry date on the label. Never allow insulin to freeze. Insulin that is currently in use may be kept at room temperature for 28 days only and then discarded. Insulin must not be exposed to extremely hot temperatures or to sunlight. Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones given here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor. Store Iletin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
