Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) is used to lower fluid pressure within the eye. It is usually used only for a short time and with other medications.

Do not take Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) or to similar medicines you are currently taking or have taken monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors within the last 14 days

Before using Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine

Watch for drowsiness or dizziness that may interfere with hazardous activities or driving while using Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride). Be careful not to touch the tip of the dispensing container onto the eye, or any other surface. Serious eye infections can result from contamination of Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride).

Other:ÿ Constipation; chest pain; clumsiness; general body discomfort; nervousness; depression; sleeplessness; abnormal skin sensations; sore throat; asthma; skin inflammation; distorted sense of smell.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) is for use in the eyes only. Use exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not wear soft contact lenses during treatment. Do not touch dropper tip to any surface as this may contaminate the contents. Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Lab tests will be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Contact your doctor at once if any of the following occur: Pooling of blood in the eye; itching; discomfort; tearing; foreign body sensation; swelling of the lids. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that cause drowsiness while you are taking Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Iopidine Eyedrops (apraclonidine hydrochloride) between 36 and 80 degrees F. Protect from light. Do not freeze.
