What are the side effects of Lanvis (thioguanine)?

Most severe: Loss of appetite; yellowing of the skin or eyes; tenderness in the upper right abdominal area; severe allergic reaction (giant hives; rash; chest tightness; difficulty breathing; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Most common: Nausea; vomiting; loss of appetite; inflammation of the mouth.

How should I take Lanvis (thioguanine)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Lanvis (thioguanine) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Lanvis (thioguanine). Lanvis (thioguanine) will be given by a qualified health care provider who is experienced with the use of cancer medications. You must be under medical supervision while taking Lanvis (thioguanine). Contact your health care provider at once if you experience any of the following: Fever; sore throat; yellowing of the skin or eyes; vomiting, signs of infection; bleeding from any site; chills. Women of childbearing potential should avoid becoming pregnant while taking Lanvis (thioguanine). Lab tests will be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Lanvis (thioguanine). Do not take over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements.
