Lexxel (not available in Canada) is used to treat high blood pressure. It is not used for initial treatment of high blood pressure.

Do not take Lexxel (not available in Canada) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Lexxel (not available in Canada) you have a history of giant hives or skin inflammation you have a history of swelling of hands, feet, and face

Before using Lexxel (not available in Canada), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine or dietary supplements if you have a history of heart failure if you have low sodium levels if you are taking large doses of diuretics if you have kidney failure or kidney problems if you have any other medical condition

When used during pregnancy after the third month, Lexxel (not available in Canada) can cause injury and even death to the developing fetus. When pregnancy is detected, stop taking Lexxel (not available in Canada) as soon as possible.

Other:  Infection (fever, chills, sore throat); gum swelling; weakness; fatigue; flushing.

How much medicine you take and how often it is taken depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Lexxel (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Swallow Lexxel (not available in Canada) whole. Do not divide, crush, or chew the tablet. Report to your physician immediately any swelling of the face, hands, feet, eyes, lips, tongue, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing. Excessive sweating, dehydration, vomiting, or diarrhea can lead to an excessive fall in blood pressure while on Lexxel (not available in Canada). Report symptoms of lightheadedness to your doctor, especially during the first few days of therapy. If fainting occurs, sit or lie down, and contact your doctor. Lexxel (not available in Canada) may cause dizziness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not use salt substitutes containing potassium without consulting your doctor. Patients being treated for high blood pressure may feel tired or rundown for the first few weeks after beginning treatment. Continue taking Lexxel (not available in Canada) even though you may not feel quite "normal." Contact your doctor or pharmacist about any new symptoms. Report any signs of infection, such as sore throat or fever, to your physician. Mild gum swelling has been reported with Lexxel (not available in Canada); good dental hygiene decreases its incidence and severity. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements, without talking with your health care provider. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Lexxel (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed restart therapy and tell your health care provider at your next appointment.

Store Lexxel (not available in Canada) between 59 and 86 degrees F. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from moisture and light.
