Lustra (hydroquinone) is indicated for the gradual treatment of ultraviolet induced dyschromia and discoloration resulting from the use of oral contraceptives, pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy, or skin trauma

Do not take Lustra (hydroquinone) if you are allergic to Lustra (hydroquinone) or to any ingredient present in Lustra (hydroquinone).

Before using Lustra (hydroquinone), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking any herbal products, if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment, heart ot lung problem

Lustra (hydroquinone) is for external use only. Be very careful not to get Lustra (hydroquinone) in your eyes. Wash your hands after using your finger to apply Lustra (hydroquinone). If you accidentally get Lustra (hydroquinone) in your eyes, flush them with water. Do not bandage. During and after the use of Lustra (hydroquinone), sun exposure should be limited, and a sunscreen agent or sun-protective clothing should be used to cover the treated areas, to prevent repigmentation.

'How much medicine you use and how often you use it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Lustra (hydroquinone) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop using Lustra (hydroquinone) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Lustra (hydroquinone). Do not use more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not use any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Test for skin sensitivity before using Lustra (hydroquinone) by applying a small amount to an unbroken patch of skin and check within 24 hours. Minor redness is not a contraindication, but where there is itching, vesicle formation, or excessive inflammatory response further treatment is not advised. Close patient supervision is recommended. Contact with the eyes should be avoided. If no lightening effect is noted after two months of treatment, use of Lustra (hydroquinone)should be discontinued. Sunscreen use is an essential aspect of hydroquinone therapy, because even minimal sunlight sustains melanocytic activity. During treatment and maintenance therapy, sun exposure should be avoided on treated skin by application of a broad spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15 or greater) or by use of protective clothing to prevent repigmentation.

Store Lustra (hydroquinone) in a dry place at room temperature between 59° - 86°F. Keep out of reach of children and pets
