Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) is used to reduce menopause symptoms (e.g., hot flashes, vaginal dryness), to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) in people at high risk, and to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Do not take Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) or to similar medications.

Before using Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking or planning to take any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition if you have high blood pressure if you have undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, certain cancers (e.g., breast cancer, especially non-metastatic type), blood clots, active/recent stroke or heart attack, liver disease.

Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) has been reported to increase the chance of womb (endometrial) cancer in women who have been through menopause, especially in women with a uterus who receive estrogen-only hormone therapy. Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) may also increase the risk of ovarian or breast cancer.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) may make you dizzy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) may cause a patchy darkening of the skin on the face (melasma). Sunlight may intensify this darkening and you may need to avoid prolonged sun exposure and sunlamps. Consult your doctor regarding use of sunscreens and protective clothing. Cigarette smoking can increase the chance of blood clots while taking Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) (especially in women over the age of 35). If Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) is used in children, their growth pattern should be monitored because it may stunt growth. Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) may pass into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) is not recommended.

Store Oesclim Patch (estradiol 17b) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
