Most common: Flu-like symptoms; general body discomfort; sleeplessness; hot flashes in males.

Other: Stomach pain; constipation; joint pain; sweating; difficult ejaculation; inability to achieve or keep an erection. Orlaam (not available in Canada) can become addictive, especially after repeated use. Talk about this possibility with your health care provider.

How should I take Orlaam (not available in Canada)?

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Orlaam (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Orlaam (not available in Canada) should be given by a health care provider in a medical setting. It is extremely important to keep all of your appointments. Orlaam (not available in Canada), unlike methadone, is not to be taken daily. Daily use will lead to serious overdose. Orlaam (not available in Canada) is slow-acting. The use or abuse of any mind-altering drug, including alcohol, while on Orlaam (not available in Canada) can lead to serious problems. This is especially important during the first 7 to 10 days of treatment. Patients who are switching from Orlaam (not available in Canada) to methadone should wait at least 48 hours after the last dose of Orlaam (not available in Canada) before taking methadone or any other narcotic. Patients should inform their family members what to do in case of overdose while taking Orlaam (not available in Canada). They should inform the treating health care provider or emergency room staff that the patient is being treated with Orlaam (not available in Canada). Orlaam (not available in Canada) may interact with a number of other medicines, including alcohol. It is important for the patient to report the use of any medicine to their health care provider to avoid serious side effects, such as breathing problems, low blood pressure, or coma. If a female patient becomes pregnant while taking Orlaam (not available in Canada), she should be switched to methadone for the remainder of the pregnancy. If the patient experiences any symptoms that signal irregular heartbeat while taking Orlaam (not available in Canada) such as pounding in the chest or fainting, talk with your health care provider at once. Do not stop taking Orlaam (not available in Canada) without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Orlaam (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
