Indications
Isosorbide mononitrate belongs to a class of drugs called nitrates, and it is used to prevent chest pain, also known as angina, in patients with coronary artery disease. Its mechanism of action involves relaxing and widening blood vessels, thus increasing blood flow to the heart.
