The combination of netupitant and palonosetron is indicated for the prevention of nausea and vomiting induced by cancer chemotherapy. Palonosetron is classified as a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist and acts by blocking serotonin, an endogenous substance in the body that triggers the sensation of nausea and vomiting.
