Why are Canadian drugs less expensive?

In Canada, the government created the Patented Medicine Review Board to ensure the prices of patented drugs in Canada are not excessive. As a result, Canadian patented drug prices have risen in only moderate amounts compared to prices south of the border.

Generic drugs as an affordable and safe alternative to brand names

A generic drug is a copy that is the same as the brand-name drug in dosage, safety, strength, how it is taken, quality, and intended use. Generics have the same active ingredients as the brand-name and work the same way in the body in the same amount of time.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look different.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers donโ€™t have to invest large sums of money to invent a drug. The drug has already been invented by the brand-name company. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can copy the drug and sell it at substantial discounts.

What about Medicare Part D?

The Achilles heel of Medicare Part D is that it forces patients to continue buying overpriced drugs. For most seniors, CanDrugstore has numerous advantages that result in better savings and convenience.

Patients choose the drugs that are best for them, not insurance companies with limited formularies. There’s no premiums, no co-pays, no contracts and absolutely no fuss… just low prices, all the time.

And unlike Part D, patients never have to worry about losing their coverage due to over-use.
