Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which follows the lives of Jon, Kate and their eight children (twin girls, and sextuplets). The show has been a hit with the American audience, pulling millions of viewers to watch the show every episode, but is there a potential danger to the children?

“I don’t really care whether Jon has been faithful to Kate or not. My question about him and his wife is about how they can justify turning their kids’ lives into entertainment, with unknown, possibly severe, psychological fallout.
No one knows the precise psychological impact of having parents who are “acting” like parents for the cameras or having producers around who are hoping for high drama, but the impact could be significant and negative… How does one of the children decide to drop out of the series? If he or she did, would that child risk losing parental attention and love? Who has the moral right to decide that another human being’s life story will be played for television audiences?” –Excerpt from Fox News Health Blog
I myself have always wondered if Jon and Kate ever really considered what they could be doing to their children, what kind of horrible psychological trauma they are causing to the kids. There are many child stars that have experienced many problems because of their early fame. Jack Osbourne, son of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, was part of the hit reality show based around his family, appropriately name “The Osbournes.” The show won an Emmy in 2002 and opened many doors for Jack, but not all of them were good. Jack Osbourne began partying and became addicted to many drugs. He even attempted to kill himself using alcohol and drugs, followed by cutting his hands with shards of glass.
Obviously, Jon and Kate should perhaps re-assess their decision and put their children’s health before their own fame.
