Rocaltrol is a synthetic form of vitamin D used to treat people on dialysis who have hypocalcaemia (abnormally low blood calcium levels) and resulting bone damage. Vitamin D is necessary to maintain the right amount of calcium in the body for strong bones and teeth.
It is frequently prescribed for patients with low vitamin D levels due to treatments and illnesses, such as chronic renal dialysis and hyperparathyroidism.
