Tips for a good night’s sleep

The brain is okay at functioning on only a few hours of sleep, but it will not live up to its potential. Having a lack of sleep can actually cause your mental, physical, and even emotional health to pay. You will have a harder time doing simple tasks when you are sleep deprived, and may start to get moody with those around you. In order to keep yourself healthy and maintain your relationships, make sure you are getting enough sleep!

Here are some tips to help you get a better night’s sleep:

Try to maintain a regular sleep schedule – go to bed and wake up at around the same times every day.

Exercise regularly – Regular exercise will help you use up more energy and reduce your stress levels helping you sleep better.

Wind down before bed – Try to do something relaxing before going to bed like reading a book or having a bath. This will tell your body that you are ready to sleep and ease you of stress that could keep you up at night. Avoid sitting on the computer before going to bed – it may hinder your ability to fall asleep peacefully.

Stay Healthy – A healthy diet will help you sleep well. Make sure you have plenty of calcium and magnesium in your diet. Try taking multivitamins regularly to improve your overall health.
